Burial in a tree trunk coffin during the Bronze Age
The picture shows a Bronze Age (2000-1200 B.C.; Northern Europe since 1800 B.C.) funeral. The ceremony takes place in the early Bronze Age dunes (probably in Jutland, Denmark). The coffins are made of split and carved out tree trunks and decorated with flowers. The men are carrying swords and daggers as well as they attached swords to the coffin serving as grave goods.
