The picture shows the town hall of Lucerne, which was built under the direction of Anton Isenmann between 1602 and 1606. The Renaissance-style building covered with an overhanging roof, representing a traditional style from the canton of Bern. In the right corner of the picture the weapon of Lucerne is depicted. The pictures shows Lucerne at a time when it had great influence in the Swiss Confederation.
